(371 words) A.P. Chekhov - an outstanding writer and master of domestic literature. In his stories, he brilliantly applies artistic features. His talent is that he is incredibly able to tie together something sad or funny. Thanks to such tricks, Chekhov skillfully shows in his heroes all human vices. He skillfully makes his reader first make fun of the character, and then can provide a topic for reflection on the tragedy of the situation.
A. Chekhov wrote the sad story “Tosca”, where, using an example of one episode from the hero’s life, he tries to draw the reader’s attention to one of the main problems of his time - the problem of human indifference. It reveals a great misfortune in a person’s life with the help of various techniques in which you can feel the whole tragedy of what is happening.
From the very beginning of the story, the author gives a topic for reflection on the dilemma of human existence, more precisely, on the loneliness of a person among a crowd of people, on the absence of a separation of sorrow and sadness. In such a society, there is no way to be heard and understood.
In this work we are talking about the life of the protagonist Jonah, who lost all his cheerfulness due to the death of his son. He works as a cab driver, and every time someone gets into his carriage, he tries to share his sadness and talk about it with those who come. A man wants to be listened to, sympathized with, comforted. But none of them cares about him - everyone is busy with their life. No one has neither the time nor the desire to listen to a story about other people's problems and sorrows.
Life is fleeting as the old horse of Jonah. All fellow travelers who sit down to a man do not even think about how life flies by fleetingly. People are in a hurry, running, they don't care about anyone. Everyone lives with their problems, noticing anything else.
The funniest thing in the story was that the only one who could listen to our main character Jonah was his horse. Without hesitation, the man began to withdraw his soul, telling about his sadness to the horse, but already from hopelessness. After the story told, the man began to feel better. He realized that they could calmly listen to him without interrupting.
Thus, A. Chekhov was able to show the reader that the world can be full of heartless and indifferent people. In the story, he tries to make fun of them, explaining this by the fact that society should not be like that. People need to become kinder, you need to try to pay attention to those who are ill, and help them. Then for everyone, life will be full of joy and goodness.
