(360 words) Many people are disappointed on the way to a dream, because they do not have the strength to go to the end. Something goes wrong, the desired remains the phantom, and reality dictates other ideals, other goals. As a result, we stumble, fall and do not rise, because we do not see the point in the new struggle. What does it look like in practice?
A similar process was portrayed by A.P. Chekhov in the story “Ionych”. The hero dreamed of a harmonious and creative life. He chose a very useful activity - medical practice - and decided to supplement himself with the second half. It would seem that he is on the verge of happiness, you just have to open the door. But right at the door Dmitry receives a rejection from his beloved. And his performance rather put him to sleep than pleased him. The routine of the monotonous days did not at all resemble the holy destiny that the Startsev imagined. As a result, after several years of such a sluggish provincial life, the hero left his faith in the old dreams of calling and helping people, of professional and personal growth. He was disappointed in the dreams, because on the path to achieving them he encountered difficulties that he could not overcome.
We see another example in the work of L. N. Tolstoy "Anna Karenina." The married lady fell in love with the officer and realized that family happiness with him was her only cherished dream. But for the sake of its embodiment, she had to come to terms with the fact that all previous friends and acquaintances preferred to break all ties with her. Divorce in those days was considered an inconceivable scandal, and Anna was despised as a fallen woman. The oppression of public pressure was so severe that even her lover in the finals became weighed down by the position in which passion drove him. The heroine felt his cooling and realized that all her victims were in vain. Love could not replace Vronsky with the charms of former life in the bosom of secular society. Disappointed in the dream, she threw herself under the train. Why did this happen? The reason is that the fulfilled dream did not live up to Anna's hopes. She didn’t get what she wanted.
Thus, a person is disappointed in a dream because difficult trials appear on his way to it, and overcoming them seems impossible to him. In this case, it is easier for him to surrender and betray ideals, and not to achieve his own expense of deprivation and sacrifice. And sometimes the dream is distorted during the transition to reality, and people, seeing them from the inside out, are disappointed in what they once so desired.
