From century to century, people are changing, but their main principles remain unchanged. In particular, it is customary in society to condemn traitors and encourage loyal followers of words or feelings. Why is this happening? In my opinion, all strong relationships, without which it is impossible for people to work together, are committed and devastated by treason. Therefore, we establish moral guidelines that help preserve our fragile social world.
Consider the example from the novel by L. N. Tolstoy "Anna Karenina." The heroine cheated on her husband, destroying a long marriage. All arrangements were dispelled in the wind. Little Seryozha, the son of the Karenins, came under attack, because after the departure of his mother he was very sad and missed her, not understanding what was happening. Anna’s husband also became nervous, angry and irritable, and in the finale, as it seems to me, he generally lost faith in people. The woman herself, almost the most painfully, was experiencing this tragedy, as a result, unable to cope with stress and guilt, she ended her life by suicide. Vronsky also suffered, losing everything he liked before. She and Anna found themselves in forced isolation from society. As a result of this gap, nobody gained happiness, on the contrary - everyone became much more miserable than before.
Another example was described by N. Leskov in the work “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk County”. The heroine is unfaithful to her husband, and this crime entails more serious consequences. Katerina Lvovna decides to kill her husband and father-in-law in order to inherit the fortune and calmly indulge in passions with the clerk. However, her crime becomes public, and the lovers go to hard labor together. There Sergey is cheating on his lady with a pretty convict, raining down on her companion all the reproaches for their failures. Katerina ends her vicious life by taking the rival to the bottom and drowning herself with her.
It is obvious that betrayal destroys human relations and corrupts the human soul. Fidelity opposes this power, maintaining a harmony of constancy and honesty in words and deeds. Only a faithful companion of life can be entrusted to the family hearth, the foundation of the world order. If devotion saves the world, then betrayal destroys and ruins it.
