Some people know a sense of betrayal, especially bitterly perceive betrayal by a loved one. This is a vice of a frivolous person, unable to keep promises and be true to his choice. Regardless of the circumstances, betrayal always becomes a bitter experience that I never want to remember again. Nevertheless, such an experience helps to temper character, become firmer on the path of failure, and also to better know people.
Writers have addressed this topic many times, keenly experiencing the bitterness of experience with their heroes. In the work of L. Tolstoy “Anna Karenina” it becomes clear that the author partly condemns the woman for treason to her husband, and partly still sympathizes with her. After all, for herself it was a real torture: to live for some time in betrayal, deceiving her husband, betraying her son. It was her bitter experience, from which not only two suffered. Vronsky, who was seized with passion, Karenina’s husband, who had experienced the whole palette of feelings, having learned that his wife had cheated on him, Anna herself, who was tormented by remorse, their little son. And as a result of such a terrible situation - the suicide of Anna, who could not live under the constant scornful gaze of society. She could not resist the burden of her experience. Her husband was no less affected: Karenin became isolated in himself and could no longer find the strength to trust people.
But there is another kind of betrayal - friendly, when a friend betrays each other. And it is not known which of this is worse. Very sharply describes the momentary weakness of his hero A. Pushkin in Eugene Onegin. From the beginning, he shows us the friendship of Lensky and Onegin, as a kind of confrontation of interests, but this is what becomes the stumbling block in their friendship. Onegin, wanting to teach Lensky a lesson, flirts with his beloved, thereby provoking him to a duel, where he kills his unfortunate friend. The betrayal of the hero consisted in the inability to overcome his egoism. He valued his reputation in society more than the fellowship and life of young Vladimir. The bitterness of this experience did not allow Eugene to live in peace: he wandered around the countries, but could not find his place in the world after what he did.
Treason is always accompanied by pain experienced by both sides. A person who cheated on himself or others will never again have confidence, he is weak in soul, unable to adhere to the path chosen by himself. It is already difficult for those who have undergone deception and humiliation to trust people. But such a bitter experience teaches you to be more careful about your actions and promises. Knowing how it feels to experience such a feeling, you will never be able to do this to another person.
